A little about us
BRENT AND CINDY DISCOVERED KAYENTA IN THE LATE 1980’s
Soon after that they purchased their first building lot. Each year they would bring the children to St. George for Spring vacation or soccer tournaments and rent in Kayenta. They would visit their lot and “DREAM”. When finally able to build a “vacation” home in Kayenta, Brent found it to be such a pleasurable experience that they sold their home in Park City and he and Cindy moved permanently to Kayenta.
Brent was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Olympus High School and attended the University of Utah. Brent started out in the business cleaning job-sites on his father’s construction projects when he was in grade school. His passion for quality building was nurtured by mentorships with the fine craftsmen employed by his father. He shares 5 children and 4 grandchildren (so far) with his wife Cindy. They have been partners in the construction business for 33 years. Brent enjoys his guitar, his family, his dog and his friends. The order does not denote importance! Hiking in the Grand Canyon, fly fishing, gardening and bike riding are also counted as “passionate endeavors”.
Cindy is a Southern California girl who started out at the University of California in Santa Barbara and decided to trade the beach for the mountains. As her father says she came to Utah to ski and go to college – in that order. She never went back to California after falling in love with the fantastic beauty of the whole state of Utah. She attended the University of Utah and has worked as a drug counselor as well as a restaurant manager. She has been handling the financial side of the construction company since she first met Brent 34 years ago. Maybe that is why he married her? It’s still the big question.
The Perfect Place
Brent and Cindy find Kayenta to be the perfect juxtaposition between Cindy’s family in Southern California and the children and grand-children in Salt Lake. The community of friends in Kayenta is too fabulous to express in words. They are very very happy and are both pretty certain they have found the “perfect place” to live. Every morning they wake up to look out the window and go “wow”.
